Matthew 7:1-5
"A Speck, A Plank and a Lot of Confusion"

Here we come to an often quoted but frequently misunderstood part of Jesus’ Sermon on the Mount.  What exactly does Jesus mean when he tells us, “Do not judge?”  The answer to this question might surprise you.  Here we find a call to deep and honest engagement in the lives of other believers — but an engagement characterized by humility, grace and gentleness, and an engagement that is preceded by an honest self-introspection and reckoning with our own sin.  Here is an invitation into relationships that Christ will use to transform our lives for his glory.
