Luke 20: 27-40
"Ridiculing Resurrection"

In this passage, we watch as a new group of opponents confront Jesus with a question with which they intend to ridicule the very idea of a future resurrection and, at the same time, discredit Jesus before the crowds.  What happens, however, turns out quite differently than expected.  Jesus explains the “missed” implications of the scriptures and challenges their expectations of what a resurrection life must be like.  In the end, we are challenged to rethink some of our own understandings and engage in this life with the future resurrection life very much in mind.  Though we may not fully grasp all that lies ahead, we can trust in the goodness of all that Jesus promises.
