This familiar story about Zacchaeus is far more than just a great story for children. In it we are reminded of the fact that the presence of Jesus has the power to effect real change and impart real joy in every person’s life through his gift of salvation. We see this fleshed out before our eyes in the life of Zacchaeus but this is true of each of us and all those around us too. Taken to heart, this story can fill each of us with hope and move us to join Jesus on his mission for the lost all around us.
