Luke 20:1-19
"Dealing with Jesus"

In these two sections of Luke’s gospel, we witness the “disruptive presence” of Jesus in Jerusalem and the temple.  Simply ignoring him is not an option.  The religious leaders who've rejected him, desperately want to get rid of him — but how?  They question, and fight against, the authority of the one sent by God — the one who is himself God enfleshed.  Each of us, likewise, faces Jesus and must decide how we will respond.  Will we resist like the religious leaders of that day, or will we see the gracious and loving heart of God and surrender ourselves to Jesus, King of Kings and Lord or Lords?
