In this text we come to another parabolic saying of Jesus. What we discover as we explore the story that provides the context of that saying is that there is a clash of kingdoms taking place right now, a clash between the kingdom of Satan and the kingdom of God. Though we are called to spiritual vigilance and resistance to Satan, we need not live with fear because, as Jesus makes very clear in this parabolic saying, the end is not in question. The clash is not between equals. Jesus is the stronger man.
