Hebrews 3:7-19

In this text we come to the second warning passage in the book of Hebrews. That author reminds his readers of the example of Israel in the wilderness, an example characterized by unbelief and rebellion. His goal is to help his readers be soberly aware of the danger of sin, specifically the sin of rebelling against God by rejecting Christ, and subsequently to urge them to practice mutual, regular, ongoing encouragement of one another in their faith. May we too recognize the dangers of sin and daily remind one another of the good news in Christ.
