1 Corinthians 6:12-20
"Your Body Matters"

In this message we explore a situation transpiring in first century Corinth that is remarkably similar to the cultural reality we live in today.  In the context of the church in Corinth, sexual immorality is being practiced and defended because of wrong thinking about the human body, contending that it is unimportant and thus what we do with it does not matter.  Many today similarly disparage the body, splitting it off from the authentic self and consequently contending that we can do whatever we want with our bodies — because ultimately they are not important.  In contrast to that view, the Bible affirms the goodness of creation and thus the goodness of the body, infusing it with great importance.  It is an integral part of who we are as persons, part of God’s redemptive story, thus an important part of our lives as disciples of Jesus.
