On Sunday evening, December 18, the Sunrise church family, along with some guests,
gathered for an evening of entertainment, connecting and dessert.
Definitely living up to it’s billing as a “variety night,” the entertainment ranged from
musical numbers and drama performances to a “kid-snippet” video and a Christmas
comedian.
Throughout the night, people faced the challenge of discovering their “identity,” a sticker
with a Christmas themed word on it applied to their back, while only asking others “yes”
or “no” questions.
In the middle of the evening, performances paused for guests to enjoy a wonderful
dessert to compliment the snacks and beverages that were available at each table
throughout the evening.
This was the first time Sunrise hosted a Christmas event like this, and in the weeks
ahead the Ministry Leadership Team will evaluate its effectiveness in facilitating a fun,
relationship building time for our church family and make a decision about whether to
plan this event again next year. Going by first impressions, it seems likely we will enjoy
a repeat performance in 2017.
